Fellowships

The PolyChar 23 Short Course and Conference is fortunate to be able to provide a number of fellowships and assistantships thanks in part to the National Science Foundation of the U.S.A. and to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development at UNL. These include:
  1. IUPAC/Samsung special fellowships for students and young investigators (<35) from economically disadvantaged countries (~$400 plus registration waved for students)
  2. Graduate Student Fellowships (up to $500): Students having a poster in the conference have highest priority
  3. Young Scientist Fellowships (up to 35 years of age; up to $500): Young investigators having a presentation have highest priority
  4. Undergraduate STEM Student Fellowships ($100; Including registration for short courses and/or one day)
  5. High School STEM Teacher and Student Aid (Contact organizers with specific needs)
Additional funds might be available. To apply for a fellowship or aid, please submit application by January 15, 2015, to PolyChar23@unl.edu with the following information included:
  1. 1. In the e-mail include a statement of request consisting of the type of fellowship or aid requested, estimated cost to attend the meeting, the amount requested and its justification
  2. A current CV or resume
  3. Also include:
    1. Graduate Students: include your submitted abstract (same as submitted online), research plan, copy of student ID
    2. Young Scientists (up to 35 years of age): include your submitted abstract (same as submitted online), research plan
The applicants accepted for a fellowship or aid will receive an e-mail including the amount provided. The awardees will receive the funds during the conference at the registration desk.
